    GLDF Files

GLDF files use the .gldf extension. GLDF, the Global Lighting Data Format, is a package-style format for exchanging luminaire product data.

    What the format contains

A GLDF file is an archive that can contain product metadata and one or more photometric files. In IntensityView, the built-in reader locates the product data and imports the referenced photometric distribution data from the package.

    Use in IntensityView

IntensityView can import .gldf files and create intensity documents from the photometric data contained in the package. The current built-in save implementation is minimal, so GLDF should be treated primarily as an import format in this version.

    Best practice

Use GLDF when receiving packaged product data. After import, save an .ewi copy if the data will be edited or used as an EikonalWorks project master.
